Beaded Frame with OG Inset Rails

This client is an artist with exquisite taste who was undertaking a renovation of her Norfolk holiday cottage. The room was an unusual shape, forming a horseshoe around a supporting wall. Being such an old property, nothing was square or straight, which is where a bespoke kitchen comes into its own!

We were able to design a handmade kitchen that makes use of every inch of space, scribing splashbacks and kickboards into walls that are never straight or true. This gives an impeccable finish and is simply not possible with an “off-the-peg kitchen”.

The shaker cabinets are finished with an OG moulding. Vase turnings give a stylish flair to the cabinetry. We built a trellis radiator cover to hide the modern radiator, which also doubles as extra workspace.

A chimney canopy site over the oil-fired range. The splashback tiles are the cilent’s own from Fired Earth. The cabinets are painted in Farrow and Ball Light Blue, and a natural oak plank worksurface creates a warm, welcoming and practical workspace.

Tucked around the corner we made use of the odd space by creating a pantry nook, complete with integrated fridge/freezer.

A small 2-zone induction hob was even squeezed in next to the range for when it’s switched off in the summer.
